Society’s beauty standards require women to be beautiful. This series of photographs were captured using a scanner to depict the struggle of fitting into those standards.

I pressed my face up against the glass of the scanner, smudging my makeup. The dishevelled and messy look is so unladylike. Where’s my composure?
