Biography

Wiktoria Hebda (b. 2001) is a London based, interdisciplinary artist whose work spans painting, sculpture, and photography, primarily focusing on portraiture and self-portraiture. Her practice is deeply personal with a philosophical and psychological narrative. She uses her art practice as a medium to explore and externalise the inner work of the human psyche - exploring the unconscious mind, memory, and dream states.

Hebda is often the subject of her artwork, which serves as an autobiography of her life, documenting mental struggles, identity, and bodily perception. Symbolism plays a large part in her visual language and serves as a tool to translate emotion into physical forms.

Materiality is an important element in Hebda’s artistic process. The fragility of her chosen materials often reflects on the condition of emotional states and human life. Through this sensitivity to form, texture, and strong visual imagery, she invites the viewer to share in that vulnerability.

Hebda developed her artistic practice independently from a young age before pursuing a BA in Fine Art at Chelsea College of Arts, graduating in 2024. Her work continues to evolve, driven by her personal life experiences and a narrative of psychological themes that question and redefine the boundaries of identity and self-representation.
